Connectivity fails for Store Front and PKI on the XenMobile Cloud Connector using Proxy

Test Connectivity fails for Store Front and PKI on the XenMobile Cloud Connector using Proxy with bypass local address containing Wild card characters.

Proxy settings like below

User-added imageUser-added imageUser-added image

Proxy logic does not honour wildcard characters when they are specified in the bypass list, It’s a known issue will be fixed in future version.

Workaround to resolve:-

Add the specific URLs for StoreFront and the PKI server to the bypass list instead of using a wildcard.

1. Remove the existing proxy setting by executing the following from the command line on the connector machine: netsh winhttp reset proxy

2. Reboot the connector machine

3. Open IE on the connector machine > Browse to Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Proxy Server > Advanced

4. In the exceptions text field, enter the specific URLs that are currently experiencing issues like StoreFront and PKI server URLs.

5. Save the changes and close IE

6. Import these updated proxy settings by executing the following from the command line: netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie

7. Reboot the connector machine again

Please note that all connector services must be restarted whenever proxy changes are made on the proxy machine. It is recommended to restart the entire connector machine in order to ensure that following services are started

How to Use the XenServer Xentop Utility

To run the Xentop utility open an SSH console with the XenServer host or go to the Console tab in XenCenter.

Run the xentop command in the console. The console displays information about this server in a table.

User-added image

Available Parameters

You can use the following parameters to configure the output for the xentop command:

  • –delay=SECONDS – Set the number of seconds between updates
  • -n – Output the VIF network data
  • -x – Output the VBD block device data
  • -r – Repeat the table header before each domain
  • -v – Output the vCPU data
  • -i – Number of iterations (updates) to display before xentop exits
  • -f – Output the full domain name instead of a truncated name

Use the -h parameter to see more available parameters for the xentop command.

Columns Description

The Xentop utility displays the following columns in the console: CPU(sec) – Prints domain CPU usage in seconds

CPU(%) – Prints cpu percentage statistic

VCPUS – Prints number of virtual CPUs

NETS – Prints number of virtual networks

MEM – Prints current memory

MAXMEM(k) – Prints maximum domain memory statistic in KB

MAXMEM(%) – Prints memory percentage statistic, ratio of current domain memory to total node memory

NETTX – Prints number of total network tx bytes statistic/1024

NETRX– Prints number of total network rx bytes statistic/1024

VBDS – Prints number of virtual block devices

VBD OO – Prints number of total VBD OO requests. This shows the number of times that the VBD has encountered an out of requests error. When that occurs, I/O requests for the VBD are delayed.

Shows number of total VBD requests statistic:

  • VBD_RD number of read requests
  • VBD_WR number of write requests

Possible virtual machine states:

  • d – domain is dying
  • s – domain shutting down
  • b – blocked domain
  • c – domain crashed
  • p – domain paused
  • r – domain is actively running on one of the CPU

CPU on EliteDesk 800 being identified as HyperV thus disabling RemotePC functions

Question:

RemotePC feature SAS Notifications do not work on EliteDesk 800 PCs.

Answer:

If HyperV support is enabled in BIOS on certain models of PCs the VDA may incorrectly read it as being a VM instead of a physical PC. Thus certain RemotePC functions such as SAS Notifications may be disabled.

To override this behavior starting with VDA 7.11 you can set the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixPortICA REG_DWORD ForceEnableRemotePC=1

Reboot the VDA for the setting to take effect.

This is the current workaround. A more comprehensive solution is being researched by the product team.

How to disable Secure Hub Pin / Worx Pin

In the XenMobile console, click Configure > Settings > More > Client Properties.

Under Client Properties set ENABLE_PASSCODE_AUTH to False

User-added image

This property allows you to turn on Citrix PIN functionality. With the Citrix PIN or passcode, users are prompted to define a PIN to use instead of their Active Directory password. This setting is automatically enabled when ENABLE_PASSWORD_CACHING is enabled or when XenMobile is using certificate authentication.

For offline authentication, the Citrix PIN is validated locally and users are allowed to access the app or content they requested. For online authentication, the Citrix PIN or passcode unlocks the Active Directory password or certificate, which is then sent to perform authentication with XenMobile.

If ENABLE_PASSCODE_AUTH is true and ENABLE_PASSWORD_CACHING is false, online authentication always prompts for the password because Secure Hub doesn’t save it.

Possible values: true or false

Default value: false

If you want to disable password caching, set ENABLE_PASSWORD_CACHING to False from Client Properties.

User-added image

This property enables Active Directory passwords to cache locally on the mobile device. When you set this property to true, you must also set the ENABLE_PASSCODE_AUTHproperty to true. With user password caching enabled, XenMobile prompts users to set a Citrix PIN or passcode.

Possible values: true or false

Default value: false
