Citrix ADC Priority Queuing Counters

This article contains information about the newnslog Priority Queuing counters and its brief description.

Using the Counters

Log on to the ADC using an SSH client, change to SHELL, navigate to the /var/nslog directory, and then use the ‘nsconmsg’ command to see comprehensive statistics using the different counters available. For the detailed procedure refer to Citrix Blog – NetScaler ‘Counters’ Grab-Bag!.

The newnslog Priority Queuing counters

The following table lists the newnslog Priority Queuing counters with a simple description of the counter.

Description

pq_cur_qsize

This counter tracks the number of genuine clients on this service.

pq_tot_policy_match

This counter tracks the number of times the Netscaler appliance matched an incoming request using any priority queuing policy.

pq_tot_thresh_failed

This counter tracks the number of times the priority queuing threshold criteria are not met.

pq_tot_pri1_reqs

This counter tracks the number of priority 1 requests that the Netscaler appliance received.

pq_tot_pri2_reqs

This counter tracks the number of priority 2 requests that the Netscaler appliance received.

pq_tot_pri3_reqs

This counter tracks the number of priority 3 requests that the Netscaler appliance received.

qdepth

This counter tracks the number of waiting clients in the priority queuing queue.

pq_peer_ip

This counter tracks the IP address of the virtual server to which this priority queuing policy is bound.

pq_peer_port

This counter tracks the port number of the virtual server to which this priority queuing policy is bound.

pq_cur_clt_served

This counter tracks the current number of server connections established for this priority queuing policy.

pq_tot_clt_TransactionTimeus

This counter tracks the total client transaction time in micro-seconds for this priority queuing policy.

pq_tot_clt_Transactions

This counter tracks the total number of client transactions for this priority queuing policy.

dropped

This counter tracks the number of dropped transactions for this priority queuing policy.

pq_tot_qdepth

This counter gives the total queue depth for this priority queuing policy.

pq_tot_clt_served

This counter gives the total number of server connections established for this priority queuing policy.

pq_tot_qwait_time

This counter tracks the amount of time spent by priority queuing clients in the priority queue.

pq_tot_clt_TransactionTimems

This counter tracks the total client transaction time in micro seconds for the priority queuing policy.

pq_clt_avgTransactionTimeus

This counter tracks the average time taken by a priority queuing client to complete its transaction.

pq_tot_avg_qdepth

This counter tracks the average queue depth for the priority queuing policy.

pq_tot_avg_waittime

This counter tracks the average wait time for the priority queuing policy.

pq_clt_avgTransactionTimems

This counter tracks the total number of times the priority queuing policy matched.
