|Component:||Microsoft Exchange Message Transfer Agent|
|Message:||An MTA database server error was encountered while adding an entry to a queue. Called from <directory name>. Procedure <name>. Database error code: <error code>. Queue name: <name>. Object at fault: <object name>. [<value> <value> <value> <value>] (14)|
This event indicates that there was an internal error. This can occur if the message transfer agent (MTA) database is corrupt or the MTA DAT files are not accessible for some reason. The message transfer agent (MTA) may have stopped due to a resource shortage. The MTA is attempting to add local resources for remotely hosted connectors such as the Internet Mail Service or the MS Mail Connector.
When an installation has several gateways and connectors configured, additional resources may be required. You can modify the registry to avoid this resource shortage.
Verify that the latest service pack is installed. Use MTACHECK to verify the MTA database files. MTACHECK checks the MTA database files in the MTADATA directory for consistency and integrity. Check for related MTA events in the event log because they may contain important information.
