Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) virtual servers and SMTP connectors can contain passwords used to log on to remote systems to send and receive messages. This password is encrypted and stored in Active Directory. When storing in the metabase, this password needs to be decrypted.
The metabase update agent may be unable to decrypt the password because the private key does not match the public key used to encrypt the password.
