Message: | OALGen encountered error %1 (internal ID %2) accessing the public folder store while generating the offline address list for address list ‘%3’. – %4 |
Explanation | |
This Error event indicates that OALGen experienced an error when it tried to generate the offline address list specified in the event description. Specifically, it experienced an error when it tried to access the offline address list system folder. A common cause of this issue is Active Directory directory service replication. The offline address list object is not synchronized throughout the forest. When an offline address list is added via the Exchange Management Console, the offline address list object is added to Active Directory. The actual contents of the offline address list are generated when the Site Folder Maintenance process runs. If the domain controller used by the Exchange server hosting the offline address book (OAB) does not have a replica of the offline address list in question, the OAB generation will fail with a 9331 event and accompanying 9335 event. A common symptom of this error is that Microsoft Outlook clients report the following error message in the Outlook synchronization folder: Task ‘Microsoft Exchange Server’ reported error (0x8004010F): The operation failed. An object could not be found. If you also notice MSExchangeSA Event 9333, ensure that you have configured the appropriate replicas for your offline address list system folders. For information about OABs, see Understanding Offline Address Books. For information about how to manage OABs, see Managing Offline Address Books. |
