|Message:||The information store could not be loaded because the distinguished name (DN) %2 of message database “%3” does not match the DN of directory %1.
The database may have been restored to a computer that is in an organization or site different than the original database.
This Error event indicates that the Exchange mailbox database has a domain or organization name that is different from the name that is stored in Active Directory directory service. Typically, this situation occurs in server recovery situations.
The restored database cannot be part of a different Exchange organization.
To resolve this error, you need to reinstall the server that is running Exchange and use the organization name that is displayed in the event ID 1088 error message.
In Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and previous versions, you could fix this error by modifiying the LegacyExchangeDN with ADSI Edit; however, that method is not supported and does not work correctly with Exchange 2007. For an overview of ADSI Edit, see ADSIedit Overview in the Microsoft Windows Server TechCenter.
For more information about this event, see Microsoft Exchange Server Analyzer article MSExchangeIS 1088: Cannot mount database because of invalid legacyExchangeDN.
If you are not already doing so, consider running the tools that Microsoft Exchange offers to help administrators analyze and troubleshoot their Exchange environment. These tools can help you make sure that your configuration is in line with Microsoft best practices. They can also help you identify and resolve performance issues, improve mail flow, and better manage disaster recovery scenarios. Go to the Toolbox node of the Exchange Management Console to run these tools now. For more information about these tools, see Toolbox in the Exchange Server 2007 Help.
