Version: 5.2
Symbolic Name: WBEM_MC_EVENT_PROVIDER_QUERY_NOT_FOUND
Message: Event provider attempted to register query “%1” whose target class “%2”
does not exist.
The query will be ignored.

Explanation

Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) logs this event when the target class does not exist in the WMI repository for the specified query.

Possible causes include:

  • An erroneous dependency for the class in the query that no longer exists.
  • A missing class definition.

User Action

Identify the program that installs the target class in question. Then, do the following:

  1. Compile the definition for the target class into the WMI repository by compiling the class provider mof file.
  2. Reinstall the program. Relevant mof files are automatically compiled when a program is re-installed.

If the error persists, contact the support provider for the program to which this WMI query belongs.
