Explanation | |||
The DFS Replication service failed to contact the domain controller to access configuration information. Replication is stopped. The service will try again during the next configuration polling cycle. Cause This event can be caused by TCP/IP connectivity, firewall, Active Directory®, or DNS errors or misconfigurations. The DFS Replication service could not contact the domain controller to obtain new configuration information. If replication was previously working and this error is reported, the service will use cached configuration stored locally but will not respond to any configuration changes until the issue is resolved. |

This event is usually appears due to one of the following reasons:
Example: C:\>nslookup northamerica.corp.contoso.com The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of a domain controller should be displayed. Verify that the IP address for the domain controller is correct. If anything other than a domain controller with the correct IP address is displayed, troubleshoot DNS name resolution to your domain controller. Configuration information could not be read from the domain controller, either because the machine is unavailable, or access has been denied.
