Explanation

The print server is low on resources such as memory or hard drive space, or a TCP/IP printer is not connected to the network. It is common for this message to appear several times; however, if this message appears more than 25 times in a 15-minute period, you might have to restart the print spooler.

User Action

Before restarting the print spooler, verify that the printer named in the message is turned on and connected to the network.

To restart the print spooler, do one of the following procedures.

To restart the print spooler by using My Computer

  1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
  2. In the left pane, double-click Services and Applications, and then click Services.
  3. In the right pane, right-click Print Spooler, and then click Stop.
  4. Right-click Print Spooler again, and then click Start.

To restart the print spooler from the command prompt

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type:
    cmd
  3. At the command prompt, type net stop spooler, and then press Enter.
  4. At the command prompt, type net start spooler, and then press Enter.
