SEPM hangs during configuration wizard and never moves

I need a solution

I have been unable to install the Endpoint Protection Manager 14 on my Windows server 2016.  I downloaded a trial version to create a test environment as we are considering making a change to a different AV.  I need assistance with this installation.  I have been working on it for days.  Please help.

how to configure application control using the command line ?

I need a solution

hello, is it possible to setup application control using the command line ?  we’re using the unmanaged SEP client, version 14.  i know i can allow an application access to the network by using the GUI ( open the SEP client, click Options next to the Network and Host Exploit Mitigation, click Application Settings, then Configure).  is there a way to do this using a windows command line please ?

we’re using IBM’s Bigfix product to remotely install a new application on our windows machines.  but we don’t have a way to configure SEP to allow the new application’s traffic without logging into each machine and using the GUI.

thanks much….steve.

Hi All,

have a 2008 r2 server with SEP and bigfix for Patch management.

SEP tamper protection is advising bigfix is trying to modify SEP processes and is blocking it, is this normal? has anyone had this experience?

im trying to find out from the BigFix admin to make sure the AV component isnt turned on.

Pre upgrade check fails and do not create output

When I try to run the fixlet “IBM BigFix Pre upgrade check (Version 9.5.8) against the BigFix server, it fails.
But, while I had expected to find the output file with further details of why the check fails, I am not able to find the preupgrade.out file. The relevant output from the fixlet is as follows:

Completed wait cmd.exe /C __LocalPreCheckBESAdmin.exe /preupgrade /standalone
Completed parameter “exitCode”=”{exists true whose (if true then (exit code of action = 0) else false)}”
Completed if {“True” = parameter “exitCode”}
Completed //rename the preupgrade.out to preupgrade-9.5.8.out
Failed move “{parameter “installDir” & “preupgrade.out”}” “{parameter “installDir” & “preupgrade-9.5.8.out”}”
else
//rename the preupgrade.out to preupgrade-9.5.8-datetime.err

How can I find out why the fixlet fails? I have searched the entire disk for the file preupgrade.*
