Why cannot I temporally disable monitoring emails which are sent through Email: Lotus notes?

I need a solution

I am using Symantec_DLP_14.0.

I have made a policy which is able to monitor and trigger alert log for confidential materials sent through 1) Removable Storage, 2) Email: Lotus Notes, and Web: HTTPS, HTTP, FTP.

Please also see Agent Configuration below:

Please also see server overview below: (all valid licences)

For testing purposes, I am trying to temporally disable monitoring emails which are sent through Lotus notes. For this I have deselected the channel “Email: Lotus Notes”

 The tricky thing is I can still receive alerts for emails containing confidential email sent from Lotus notes to a testing Gmail account.

I shall expect deselecting the channel “Email: Lotus Notes”in Agent Configuration is correct way to do so?

Re: Unable to backup Lotus database with NMDA

Hello community,

today I installed a NetWorker Client, extended Client and NMDA software on a Windows Server 2016 R2. It is a Lotus Notes server and I want to backup the Lotus database. My NetWorker server is running also on Windows Server 2016 R2. I am using NetWorker version 18.1.0.2

I created a client resource for the Lotus backup by using the client wizard within NMC. But I am not able to run a backup. It fails with the message:

suppressed 1800 bytes of output.

Unable to find any full backups of the save set ‘<nw-client>:NOTES:’ in the media database. Recommending that a full backup be performed.

<nw-client>:NOTES:: retried 1 times.

The client configuration is pretty simple. The wizard recognized the Lotus installation and filled all the needed information. This is what is displayed under “Application Information” in the client resource:

NSR_BACKUP_LOTUS_DIR:”TRUE”;

NSR_LOTUS_DATA_DIR:”D:\IBM\Domino\data”;

NSR_NOTES_INI_PATH:”D:\IBM\Domino\notes.ini”;

NSR_WIZARD_VERSION:”W1.1″; Notes_ExecDirectory:”D:\IBM\Domino”; name:”Lotus”; type:”LotusCFG”;

Can someone help or give me a hint? Do I need to specify a user somewhere? Or is it better to use the configuration files on the Lotus server?

Thanks in advance,

beacon.

What is the difference between Internet Email Protect and Outlook Email Protect in SEP 14

I need a solution

1. Could you please explain why there is separate option for Outlook and Lotus email protection when all outgoing & incoming emails could be scanned through ‘Internet Email Auto-Protect’ option? Why has Symantec separated Outlook and Lotus Notes from other email Programs?

2. Does Symantec “Outlook Email Auto-Protect” option scan encrypted emails that are sent on POP3 over SSL? I have read the following article which says that Internet Email Auto-Protect option DOES NOT scan encrypted emails. I want to know if Outlook Auto-protect also behaves the same.

IBM’s approach to open technology

For several years, IBM has been recognized by many within the open
source community as a leader in open source. However, that leadership is less
well known and appreciated outside of the open source communities in which IBM
engages. In this article, you’ll learn how IBM has played, and continues to
play, a leading role in the evolution of open source — an approach to
software development that has nearly completely displaced proprietary software
— and how we leverage that leadership to deliver world-class offerings and
solutions that benefit our customers.

Redirect emails.

I need a solution

Hello,

I’m hoping I have the correct forum. I am a developer on IBM systems and have very limited knowledge of email systems. I do not deal with infrastructure or networks.

There are three seperate IBM servers all which forward emails to message labs. One IBM server is our production system and the other two are development and test systems.

Basically we would like to know if it is possible for message labs to be configured to redirect emails that have been sent to message labs from a particual server/domain name.

e.g

Sent from IBM server 1, Production: This should allow all emails out to the web.

Sent from IBM server 2. Development: All emails from this server/domain should be redirected to development email accounts.

Sent from IBM server 3. Test: All emails from this server/domain should be redirected to test email accounts.

The above configuration would allow us to test email software on the IBM severs without the emails being sent to real email accounts.

Apologies for the terminaology I have used.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Regards,

Mark.

Editing a Workflow in ShareFile

Managing Custom Workflows

The user is presented with – Edit, Disable, Copy, Delete and View Versions for a workflow that was previously in Enabled state.

View Versions is displayed only if there are multiple versions of the form.

User-added image

The user is presented with – Edit, Delete, and View Versions for workflows that are in Draft mode.

User-added image

Edit

Clicking on Edit will provide the user with a warning message and creates a new version of the Workflow in Draft mode.
User-added image
The existing workflow will remain active until the new version is in Draft mode. Once the new version of the workflow is enabled the existing version will get disabled.

Delete

Clicking Delete provides the user with an alert to delete the selected workflow and all its associated instances and versions. The instances could be In-Progress or in Submitted state or in both all the associated ones would be deleted.

User will have to type “delete” on the alert to confirm the delete action thereby preventing any accidental deletion.

User-added image

View Version

Clicking on “View Version” provides the version history of the selected workflow.

If a workflow has been selected for edition, then the existing workflow remains in Enabled state and will be still available for the user to submit forms.
User-added image
Once the Draft version of the workflow is Enabled then the existing (Enabled) version of the workflow will get Disabled and the user will start seeing the new version of the workflow while submitting the forms.
User-added image
Clicking on “View” next to the previous version will provide the user with the complete Workflow view. The default view is set to Review Summary. It also displays a toast message with “This is a previous version. Previous Versions are not editable.” Message.
User-added image

It also displays the recent most five Workflow Instances that were initiated on the workflow.
User-added image

Clicking on Delete next to a version will allow the user to delete a particular version of the workflow and its associated instances. It would provide the user with delete dialog where they would have to enter “delete” to enable the Delete button.

User-added image

Disable

Clicking on Disable provides user with an alert. It gives the user with two options to select.
User-added image

Selecting Disable will no longer display the form in All Forms view on the clients. Also, it will disable all the in-progress forms that were associated with this workflow and provide an option to the user to delete them.

Selecting Allow in-progress workflow instances to continue for x days would allow the instances to work without any issues in in-progress. User would be able to submit In-progress forms without any issue. But once the expiry date is reached the instance would get disabled and would behave similar to Disable now option.

Enable

Selecting a Disabled Workflow will provide the user “Enable” option.

User-added image
Clicking on “Enable” will provide “Alert” and selecting “OK” will enable the workflow and all the associated in-progress forms. The form will now be visible under “All Forms” tab on the clients
User-added image

Copy Workflow

User are able to create a copy of the existing workflow. Clicking Copy Workflow provides the user with an option to rename the new workflow. It creates the copy with the new name and the workflow is in Draft mode.

User-added image

Archive

Archive allows the user to delete any unwanted workflows from the list of workflows.
