Encrypted mails by PGP server doesn’t go out via symantec messaging gateway.

I need a solution

Hi All,

We have a setup like below;

Client –> Exchange Server –> Symantec Encryption Management Server (aka PGP server) –> Symantec Messaging Gateway –> Internet.

The unencrypted emails are processed and going through as expected. No issues.

When I excrypt that message and send, It doesn’t go through.

Is there something I need to do in my Messaging Gateway or PGP server?

Please advise.

Thanks

PGP Decryption for Strings Encrypted using Bouncy Castle API

I need a solution

Hi Everyone,

Currently I’m using Bouncy Castle JARs(https://www.bouncycastle.org/) for Encrypting and Signinig a String. The encryption and signing is not a single function call, but is is encryption followed by signing the encrypted string.

This Encrytped and Signed Token is shared with the Vendor who uses Symantec Command Line to Decrypted and verify the encrypted string. But when the following pgp command is executed

pgp –decrypt “file” –passphrase “SecretKey”

We get a encrypted file which needs to be decrypted again using the above command.

Is it not possible to verify and decrypt the string in one step if it is encrypted using Bouncy Castle API ?

As per the documentation,

–decrypt Decrypts encrypted files with local keys or keys on a PGP KMS server. If data being decrypted is also signed, the signature is automatically verified during the decryption process. The usage format is: pgp –decrypt [ …] […] [options]

Please share your thoughts and insights.

Note: When I use PGP Command Line for encryption and signinig, the decryption and verification process happens in one step.

Thanks and Regards,

Vigneshwaran

Document not saved and Invalid Disk

I need a solution

I’m having two odd issues.  I have encrytion being done based on Active Directory Groups.  There is a single user in group one that has an issue where some office documents they cannot save, when they try they get “Document Not Saved”.  This is odd because it is only happening to one person in the group and this person can save some files in the encrypted network share but not others.

The second person is trying to rename a folder but gets “Invalid Disk”.  This folder they are trying to rename is at the top level of their encrypted share.  I had them go down one level and try to rename one of those folders and they could without issue.

Some troubleshooting steps I have taken are the following:

– I had both users attempt to complete their task in an unencrypted location.  I also had them try to compmlete their task with the same files/folders in a decrypted state and both situations worked.

– I have compared both users to other users in the group that are not having issues.  All PGP settings and NTFS settings are identical.

– I have removed PGP and its associated folders from the two user’s computers and completely re-installed.  This did not help.

Any thoughts?

Cloud-managed?

I do not need a solution (just sharing information)

Hi all. Is there any encryption product at all offered by Symantec that is cloud-managed only, and does NOT require a server?  I need something for my small business clients that function in workgroup settings.  SEPC w Encryption Management seems to be the closest thing but I have not yet used it.  Thanks!

3090:operation failed, error decompressing data

I need a solution

Decrypt seems to be working fine for files less than 1kb in size. Whenever the file has multiple lines, it is having problems with the decryption.

Have tried to download the file using both binary / text transfer, and no luck.

Appreciate any help.
