Unable to open old PGP files becuase of missing SEIP – Error -10800

I need a solution

We are using Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.4.2 MP3.

We are running into an problem when trying to decrypt file created with an older version of PGP.

This is discribed in this article: https://support.symantec.com/us/en/article.TECH253087.html

The article indicates that there is a way to bypass this security check, however offers no information on how to do this. It states you need to contact teir 2 support.

My problem is that I am using the free, unlicensed version of this product. It has limited functionability, but it does what I need it to do – encrypt and decrypt files. So I can’t really contact support.

Can anyone share what is necessary to remove this security check? I really need access to my older PGP files.

Thanks,

Richard
