Citrix Cloud – Removing Host Connection in Xenapp/XenDesktop Service

The primary intent of this article is to provide steps on how to remove the Host Connection in the XenApp and XenDesktop Service.

Background

The XenApp and XenDesktop Service is a service of Citrix Cloud. The XenApp and XenDesktop Service offers secure access to virtual Windows, Linux, and web apps and desktops. This service is based on XenApp and XenDesktop technology.

A key component of the service is the host connection. It’s a connection between the XenApp and XenDesktop Service and your on-premises hypervisor, supported cloud provider, or hybrid environment. Using the host connection, the XenApp and XenDesktop Service can provision machines to the network resources you specify and manage user access to the apps and desktops you make available.

Before you can provision machines through the XenApp and XenDesktop Service, you must first create a connection and define the network resources you will use. Configuring a connection includes setting the connection type from among the supported hypervisors and cloud services. The storage and network you select form the resources for that connection.

In order to successfully remove a host connection, items must be deleted in a specific order. The steps below will walk through the process of successfully removing a host connection.
