|Component:||Microsoft Exchange Message Transfer Agent|
|Message:||An error occurred while transferring message <message id> out of the system because a function critical to the transfer is not supported. The message was not delivered with reason code <error code> and diagnostic code <error code>. [<value> <value> <value> <value>] (14)|
The message transfer agent (MTA) determined that this message has 1988 X.400 extensions marked as critical (required), and therefore the message cannot be sent over a 1984 X.400 backbone. This message was not originated by a Microsoft Exchange Server client because Microsoft Exchange Server does not send critical extensions.
Use message tracking to identify the message sender, and ask the sender to resend the message without critical 1988 extensions. Or, if the backbone supports the later X.400 version, use 1988 X.400 protocols.
