Failed to create a new named property for database “%1” because the number of named properties reached the quota limit for MAPI protocol (%2). User attempting to create the named property: “%3” Named property GUID: %4 Named property name/id: “%5”

This Error event indicates that user %3 could not add a new MAPI named property %5 with GUID %4 on database %1 because the number of MAPI named properties has reached the limit of %2. The default limit is 16 x 1024 (16 kilobytes). This limit was set to reduce the ability of a malicious application to make the database inoperative by exhausting the 32 kilobytes available for MAPI named properties.

To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:

• Review the Application event log for this event to determine which specific application(s) are attempting to exceed the maximum quota.

• Review Microsoft Knowledge Base article 820379, How to configure quota settings for named properties and for replica identifiers in Exchange Server 2003 and in Exchange Server 2007 for more information about this limit and how to increase the value. Be aware that the maximum value is 32 KB.

  Note   Named Props Quota is the registry value for MAPI named properties.
