This Error event indicates that Microsoft Exchange cannot read the server configuration information because the directory service is unavailable. The Microsoft Exchange Transport service will be stopped. If this service is not running, mail flow will be unable to continue on this server.

To resolve this error do one or more of the following:

• If this error occurs on a Hub Transport server, verify that the server can contact the Active Directory directory service.

• If this error occurs on an Edge Transport server, verify that the server can contact the Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) directory service.

• Restart the Microsoft Exchange Transport service.

• Review other related Error and Warning events in the Application log. These related events may help you find the root cause of this error.
