What is Connection Drop?

Resolution

With the SMTP scanner installed at the level of the actual connection, there is a lot more control over the scanning and blocking of email. When any (or all) of the three connection drop options (IP Reputation, SPF, and RBL) are enabled, the SMTP scanner checks the sending IP address. (If SPF is enabled, the <mail from:> line in the email is also scanned.)

If any of those events fire, then the connection is terminated, and the message is blocked. No need for further scanning. This saves processing power and improves email flow speed.
