endpoint server migration(15.0MP1)—> 15.1MP2

I need a solution


I have a situation where, I need to move an existing endpoint servers(with reporting agents) from 15.0MP1 application server  to a 15.1MP2 app server. Is there any way I can preserve  the transfer of the configurations of the  endpoint server(15.0MP1)  during my ugrade to 15.1MP1 or MP2 to register it to the new Enforce server(15.1MP2)?

Oracle recommended to have a Symantec Endpoint protection to scan for viruses of attchements which will be uploaded in to E-Business suite modules likw iRecruitement and iSupplier. 

Please advice how to acheive this?

Yes, you will need to license Symantec antivirus software.

3. If so, what are the server requirements?
You will need to verify with Symantec.

4. Does this reside on the DMZ server, the apps server, or both?
It can reside anywhere you like as long as it accesses the application servers.

Thank you for contacting the Dell EMC Community forum.. This would not be a CPU or RAM issue, this sounds like a Lockbox issue since no communication is happening between the Application Server and Device Server. I would advise to unlock the lockbox and restart the services on the Application Server and Device Server if there is a separate Device Server. Please follow the directions below to unlock the Lockbox.

Log on to your Application Server with Root privileges and complete the following

1. Source the voyence.conf file

source /etc/voyence.conf

2. $VOYENCE_HOME/bin/cstdriver -lockbox $VOYENCE_HOME /data/lockb.clb -passphrase <PASSPHRASE>

3. Restart the services by completing “service vcmaster restart”

If you have a separate Device Server(s) please complete the same steps above on those server(s).

Migrating existing detection servers to new Enforce/Oracle server

I need a solution

I have to rebuild the two-tier Enforce server on new hardware and I had some questions about the existing detection servers.  This is a recent 14.6.2 build so nothing needs upgraded.  I can’t determine if I need to reinstall and configure all the existing detection servers, or if I could just replace the certificates and restore the server communications. 

Also, I have over 4,000 agents deployed and would rather not have to re-deploy them all again.

Thoughts?  I’m just hoping that I can rebuild the Enforce/Oracle server, migrate the database, change certificates and everything starts communicating again.

Deadlocked thread in process inetinfo.exe

Currently we are seeing the following error message appear daily in the even log of one of our eRoom application servers:

Event Category: eRoom Diagnostics

Event ID: 148

Date: 23/05/2018

Time: 07:27:59

User: N/A

Computer: (Server Name)


A deadlocked thread was detected in process inetinfo.exe.

I previously saw a thread containing the same error message from one of the eRoom forums where it was advised to run an IIS reset, I have tried this across all 5 application servers however it hasn’t resolved the issue. We run eChecker quarterly so this also hasn’t fixed the problem. I have noticed that the process w3wp.exe consumes a high amount of memory which is also an iis process. I thought recycling the application pool may resolve the issue however I believe an IIS reset would just do the same thing. Is there anything else that can be done to resolve this error ? Could killing the inet.info process then running an iis reset to restart the process resolve the error ?

Citrix Storefront, html5, causes Symantec Service Framework to crash

I need a solution

I’m on xenapp 7.16 running on server 2016.  Running it via receiver, the applications runs fine.  When i use html5 to launch applications, i get a pop up stating that the Symantec Service Framework has stopped working.  Eventlogs point to Event 1000, Application error, faulting application: ccSvcHst.ext.  Any ideas?  This happens on both xenapp servers.
