HA connectivity for Unity replication ports

My customer uses the Unity as external array for VSP. However only the 2 replication ports (SPA0 & SPB0) are working (for unknown reason). As a result, it would make to have each port connected to different fabric for redundancy.

However the Unity HA white paper suggests the same port on both SPs be on same switch. That also let me think what if we use these two ports for replication. Do we also need to keep them on the same fabric? Don’t we lose redundancy that way? can anyone please explain a little? Thanks.

Since the physical ports must always match on both SPs, the same port numbers are always used for host access in the event of a failover. For example, if Ethernet Port 2 on SPA is currently used for host access, the same port would be used on SPB in the event of a failure. Because of this, connect the same port on both SPs to the same switch or host for multi-pathing purposes


VPN connection freezes with SEP firewall on

I need a solution

I connect to a customer’s site using Avaya VPN.  I can access through the VPN only when SEP is disabled.  Once SEP re-enables after 5 minutes (my employer’s policy), the connection to the customer site freezes and I need to disable SEP again before the connection unfreezes.  I’ve added exceptions for the VPN’s IP and the Avaya folder and executable iteself, and have tried to add port exceptions in the SEP applications settings for the Avaya SEP, but I’m not sure this was done correctly.  The customer says that the following needs to be set in the firewall rules:

Destination: (added as an exception)

UDP  500 (by directional)

UDP 49000

ESP ( Protocol 50)

AH (Protocol 51)



Integrating the voice gateway with IVR

I have Conversation Service running using Voice Gateway, STT and TTS. I want to add IVR providers like Avaya, CISCO, Genesys and Blueworx between the caller and Voice Gateway. I was looking in the knowledge Center and found the following [link text][1] mentioning about this topic, but it has hardly any detailed information.
I am confused and I don’t know where to start from. If somebody can point me to the doc and/or example which I should use to implement this integration.
