Hi,

I have an on going problem recieving emails from a client, this has really been an issue for at least 6months

Sometime they dont get there at all or sometime 1 week later.

I’ve done a search for my clients MX record and they are using messagelabs.com

Who can I contact for help, I tried sending an email with the ip address and bounce back details but the support email doesnt work anymore.

I can’t open a ticket because I’m not a symantec client.

I need a solution

Our servers, without stable connection to Internet, are installed with SEP 14.X standard client, and get virus definition update from our internal SEPM server.

I did not know there is a so-called “dark network client” until recently. When I saw the difference between the 2 versions, I was pretty shocked:

Can anyone explain to me the difference about virius definition?

Standard client is “download latest definition only”, “use definition in the cloud”;

while the dark web client is “full set of definition”.

If our servers cannot connect to Internet, does that mean their SEP (standard client) are not able to detect some virus due to lack of some definitions?!?!?!

Centralized AV update

Dear All,

We are currently working in a project where we need to deploy, Centralized AV update to 50 Servers (winSvr 2012) and 20 Workstation (Win8). Our current architecture as below;

L3 network (no internet access): Client Server and Workstations n

L3 network (no internet access): SEPM 

L3.5 DMZ (no internet access) : No SEPM instance

L4 (business netwrk with internet connection): SEPM 

 We need your help to advice the best practice and any sample architecture on how to deploy centralize AV update from L4 down to L3 clients.

Liveupdate getting failed

I need a solution

I have installed SEP 14.2.RU1MP1,  Set a policy to get update from SEPM or Internet.  When i click on Liveupdate on the SEP Client. it tries to connect to internet and fails.  

The Client host does not have internet.  But the SEP client is connected with SEPM and able to ping the SEPM server.  But not getting the definition. 

Ran a CleanWipe Tool and installed it, it was good for a week and still got the same Definition update iissue.

14.2.4814.1101.105 clients rebooting unexpectedly

I’ve got a whole bunch of Windows Server 2012 systems, running SEP 14.2.4814.1101.105, “basic protection for servers” package.

Some of them have rebooted unexpectedly, due to SEP:

For most of the problem clients, this has only happened once that I’m aware of, either when the SEPM server was rebooted, or the SEP Master Service was restarted, e.g. for an upgrade to SEPM.  Some of those were several weeks back, and one was this morning. 

For one problem client, this happens every single time the master service restarts or the SEPM server is rebooted – I can replicate at will by simply restarting the master service on the SEPM server or rebooting the SEPM server, then waiting a couple minutes for the SEP client to trigger a reboot on the problem client.

My current plan is to do a full uninstall, reboot, run cleanwipe, reboot, and install the latest client package on the one really bad problem client, and seeing how things go.

For the other clients, scheduling downtime for many of them is difficult, so I’m wondering if this is a known bug, if there are workarounds, or what.

 I have got requirement from Customer. They would like to monitor “Currently established client connections” in HTTP Worker Statistics, I try to find OID from Bluecoat Mibs Library but nothing any OID that relate to this parameter. (In sysinfo is value of “HTTP_MAIN_0091″)

I have 2 questions to ask you

  • How to monitor “Currently established client connections” data ?
  • What’s OID of this parameter ?

Report – ‘Client not reporting status’.

I do not need a solution (just sharing information)

Hi,

I was on call with support for 80 mins looking for an options on how to get a mail notification set for the clients with ‘client not reporting status’ it seems there is no options availabe.

I believe this is very important for admins to know the status so that they can take remiditaion steps at the earliest, as these clients remain in system for long period unless there is manual  report pulled, client not reporting status is pretty crucial for many reason, i know that one can tell that client is decommissioned or not in use, even in that case there should be a report to validate cliam

Any help in this regard will be helpful

SEPM can not remote push to Windows 10 1803 client + client not showing in SEPM manager group.

I need a solution

Background

I am a novice with SEPM. However upto now I successfully installed and updated the system with no issues.

The group of clients and SEPM are on a totally offline domain of ~30 computers.

SEPM manager is a seperate PC from domain controller & server.

SEPM computer is running Windows 7 x64 SP1 ‘ out of the box ‘

SEPM was 12.1.5, just updated to 12.1.6 MU10.

Clients are either XP or Windows 7 SEP running client 12.1.5 ( 12.1.5337.5000 ) basic antivirus only installed by remote push.

Problem

New client with Windows 10 ver 1803 x64 installed. This client, like all others, has been given a unique name.

Could not install SEP by remote push then read that SEPM upgrade to 12.1.6 MU10 required. Temporarily client made standalone with virus definitions installed locally.

SEPM now upgraded to 12.1.6 MU10. Existing clients seen in manager groups after upgrade and virus definitions distributed as with SEPM 12.1.5

Uninstalled SEP from new Windows 10 client and tried to install SEP 12.1.7445.7000 by remote push. At ‘ Computer Selection Screen ‘ client seen. Login credentials entered but ‘ Testing Connection ‘ failed ‘ The client cound not be installed on the remote computer ‘. Firewall on client is turned off.

Package created and installed on client. Client can see SEPM, has green dot and virus definitions update. However client not seen in SEPM group. Communication package ( Sylink file ) created in SEPM and installed on client but issue remains.

SEPM knows client exists as licence taken. Also if in SEPM from the group ‘ Add computer account ‘ selected and the popup box filled in SEPM states ‘ There is already a computer with same name and domain in the group ‘ .

Any advice to resolve this will be appreciated.
