To create this link, right-click any file and select the ShareFile option. You can choose to have the link copied to your clipboard or to have it placed in a new Microsoft Outlook message using the Email ShareFile link option.

A link created by this method will not require the recipient to log in or enter their name and email address. Recipient access will appear in reporting as “Anonymous.”

This happens when the client account is not authenticated correctly.

Reauthorize the client account. Make sure that when you put in the client ID that you do not paste from the clipboard unless you paste as unformatted text. Once this is done, reset the system roles for the account.

Also, make sure that you have placed the certificate in the same directory (file system) as the shim for the driver.

7020613: Finding Messages in SOAP Traces That Contain Control Characters

First, get a SOAP trace. See KB, “How to Create a SOAP Trace with GroupWise POAs“; then, open the SOAP trace into a text editor like TextPad (or any editor that allows HEX searches).

    1. With the SOAP trace open in TextPad, hit F5 (Search | Find).

    2. In the “Find what:” box, type “x02” (where “02” is the illegal character code you are looking for) and click on “Find Next”.

    2. It will highlight the character. In this case, it is at the very beginning of the subject line. Now you have the subject of the message and you can go find it in the user’s mailbox.

NOTE: some characters were erased in the screenshot to protect potentially sensitive information.

If you look up what control character #2 represents, it is a “start of text” character. Note that – since this one is a control character (characters used to control a device back in the teletype days) – Textpad simply tries to represent it with character of its own choosing. A control character isn’t normally printable.

See also, “SOAP Trace Reading Basics“.

    3. Now you are ready to remedy the issue. Refer to KB, “How to Archive Items When Illegal XML Characters Are Involved (i.e., “control characters”)“.

7022998: Cannot copy then paste a “range” of data in a host session

This document (7022998) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

    Environment

Reflection Desktop (including Pro, for IBM, or for UNIX and OpenVMS) 16.0 or higher

    Reflection 2014

    Reflection Pro 2014

    Reflection for IBM 2014

Reflection for UNIX and OpenVMS 2014

    Reflection for IBM 2011

Reflection for UNIX and OpenVMS 2011

    Reflection Standard Suite 2011

    Situation

Can not copy then paste a “range” of data in a host session. Attempting to paste large amounts of data from the Windows clipboard across multiple fields and across multiple host pages is failing.

    Resolution

    If using Reflection Desktop 16.0:
Upgrade to Reflection Desktop 16.0 SP1 HF17 or higher. (16.0.478)
This change is not included in any release of Reflection Desktop 16.1 but will be in a future Reflection Desktop release.
The ability to copy, then paste a range of data (Paste Range), has been added to Reflection Desktop and allows users to paste large amounts of data across multiple fields and across multiple host pages. This feature can be accessed by copying a large amount of data to the Windows clipboard and then going to Edit | Paste Range in the Reflection session window.

A HotFix (HF) for Reflection Desktop is a cumulatively built product update, intended for limited distribution, which addresses specific customer issues and enhancement requests; outside the regular Development release cycle. It is only available to Micro Focus customers with current software support and maintenance contracts, and only after contacting Micro Focus Customer Support directly. A HotFix undergoes limited stability and quality testing and is intended for quick release to address specific product issues and should not be deployed to production environments without thorough testing. It is recommended to upgrade to a full-release or a Service Pack version of Reflection Desktop when it becomes available.
