7022986: DB2 sqlcode -2044 error – backups fail

This document (7022986) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 3 (SLES 11 SP3)

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 4 (SLES 11 SP4)

Situation

After updating to kernel version 3.0.101-108.38.1 or version 3.0.101-108.41.1 storage backups were starting to fail. The DB2 errors pointed to ipc (interprocess communication) related errors.

The DB2 log (db2idag log) is showing an error like this:
FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, database utilities, sqluBufInUse, probe:1453

MESSAGE : SQL2044N An error occurred while accessing a message queue."

Resolution

The SLES11 SP4 kernel update: 3.0.101-108.52.1 and SLES11 SP3 LTSS kernel update: 3.0.101-0.47.106.32.1, both released May/31 include the patch to resolve the problem.

Cause

Cause is a faulty parsing of msgctl args in a fix of an ipc data structure inconsistency.

Re: db2 restore error,SQL2062N

thanks.

I think that have some problem with the ENV.But the error is that the NWDB2’s error.

I had mike the CFG file:

DB2:/BIDW/NODE0000 nsrdb2sv -f /nsr/db2_cfg

db2 backup db BIDW online LOAD /usr/lib/libnsrdb2.o options @/nsr/db2_cfg

#If the node you are using is through a local connection, use the Instance Name.

NSR_SERVER=backup_server_name

NSR_CLIENT=client_name

DB2_NODE_NAME=node_name

DB2_ALIAS=alias_name

#end

DB2_VENDOR_LIB_PATH=/usr/lib/libnsrdb2.o

DB2_OPTIONS=DB2BACKUP_TABLESPACE,DB2BACKUP_ONLINE

DB2_TBS_LIST=SYSCATSPACE

#nsrdb2sv -f /nsr/db2_cfg -P password

DB2_USR=user_name

DB2_PSWD=password

and all of the client Remote Access is:*@*

Application information:DB2_R=Database_name:inst1:inst2

and I had recover a file of filesystem(not database data),it can be redirect to another computer.

With the suspicion with the networker module for db2 2.1 build 261,so I update the module with hotfix for LGTpa91317,But the error is the same.

So,I change the networker module is 1.6 with both the client and the recoverd client.The error as following:

SQL2542N No match for a database image file was found based on the source database alias “alias_name” and timestamp “20081013182509” provided.

the restore command(networker module for db2 2.1):

db2 “restore database bidw rebuild with tablespace(SYSCATSPACE) load /usr/lib/libnsrdb2.o options @/nsr/db2_cfg taken at 20081012165644 on /db2sys_res without prompting

Has anybody solved a problem like that?

DB2 NMC recover wizard

Dear Experts!

We are backup several DB2 (version 10) databases with NW 9.1.

We experienced the following:

We have many databases which is configured already.(old db-s)

We configured new databases on another host.(new db-s)

The issue is the following:

—————————-

– Both backup (old db and new db backup) is running fine

– The restore is different:

– The NMC DB2 recover wizard shows the DB2 backups in the case of new db backups (restore is successful) (Available backups)

– The NMC DB2 recover wizard DOESNT shows the DB2 backups in the case of the old db backups (Available backups)

– Both client and nmda versions are same in the case of old / new db backups

– Both config is doing via NMC DB2 backup wizard, some additional steps is doing during old db backups.

– Nothing can we observe in the nmc logs

Question:

———

– How can i force the NMC to recognize the old db backups?

– Do you often us NMC DB2 recover wizard? Which is your suggested method? (cli,db2 util,nmc wizard)

I checked the NW release notes and i found that restore wizard first release appears in nw 9.1.

Thanks in advance!

Error Installing Endpoint Encryption Suite

I need a solution

I am attempting to install the Endpoint Encryption Suite to a Windows Server 2016 environment, but I am getting a SQL error during the installation.  The installer is able to create the database, and set the database user accounts successfully, but I am just getting an error stating “1: Invalid column name ‘HasPolicyPriority’.

Why is the installer creating invalid columns when it creates to database?  Where are the install logs to review what/if I need to manually update the column name in SQL?

db2 restore fails from command line (SQL2025N)

Dear Experts!

We are using NW 9.1 and DD2500.We have some linux clients which are backing up db2 data to the

DD via Ethernet boost.The server is Windows server, the boost devices are mounted on the server.

The clients are RH linux clients.The db2 backup is running fine.

I want to restore a db2 database from command line, but it fails with the following error:

# db2 restore db DBNAME load /usr/lib/libnsrdb2.so open 1 sessions options @/nsr/apps/config/nmda_db2_inst2.cfg

SQL2025N An I/O error occurred.

Error code: “25”. Media on which this error occurred: “VENDOR”.

On the NW side, i observed that restore process is started and its progress is 0%.

# db2 list backup

On the client is running smoothly without error.There is no usable messages in xbsa and messages

files.

Questions:

– Serveral knowledge base mention this error but i dont find a good solution.

Do you have any suggestions and recommendations in this case?

– Should i have to set up NW enviromental vars or i is enough in nmda_db2 config file?

Thank you for sharing ideas.
