Good Afternoon Team,

We installed ATP 2.3 Virtual Appliance.

When trying to reboot the appliance we get an error stating “SHM instance may not be running, try after 5 mins”, due to this issue we are unable to login to the ATP Console.

If similar issue is being faced by someone and has the solution to it, please share it with me.

Thanking in Advance.

Upgrading to new appliance – would like to export log sources and then import them into the new appliance

Hi All,

I’m in the process of configuring a replacement appliance for an older unsupported appliance.

I’ve was able to get the older appliance to the same patch rev as the new appliance in hopes of using the backup and restore feature for just capturing the configuration. This did not work. It bricked the new appliance and forced a rebuild.

At this stage I’d like to know if it is possible to export my log sources and then import them into the new appliance using

postgres as was describe in another post.

QRadar hangs while syncing for HA

I am setting up QRadar with 2 all-in-one appliances.

After the secondary appliance starts syncing for about 10mins, my primary appliance will hang. My primary appliance cannot be accessed through web console or SSH at all. It is also not accepting any inputs in the console at all.
However when i check /var/log/qradar-ha.log on the secondary appliance its still doing crossover cable testing. /var/log/qradar.log on the secondary appliance also shows that it is synchronizing.

So my question is, is this supposed to happen? If not, how do i solve this issue? I have tried force restarting the primary appliance but every time after it boots up, it will be accessible for around 10mins before it hangs again. In that 10 min window i am able to access the web console and see that the secondary appliance is synchronizing at 0.1%.

These are the steps that I have done.

Install the primary appliance.

Install all the updates for 7.2.8

Verified i can web console to access the primary appliance

Install the secondary appliance

Add the secondary appliance into the cluster using the HA wizard.

Crash 10mins later
